Teacher Training

The Intermountain Suzuki Institute offers 3 SAA approved Teacher Training Units and two Enrichment Courses for teachers. SAA Teacher Training Units will start Saturday June 7th, 2009. All trainees will receive detailed information about the Saturday location with their confirmation letter. Please refer to the SAA Requirements Brochure for pre-requisites to these classes.

SAA approved Teacher Training

15 hour course with 8 hours observation
Limited to 5 participants. The purpose is to identify and strengthen the Suzuki Pedagogy techniques. Each participant is to bring a 30 minute video of their own studio teaching to class. The angle of the camera must show the student’s hands. The closest possible camera placement should be used which includes the student’s entire body. The teacher should be visible during much of the lesson. Whenever possible, include the parent as well. Video must be VHS or DVD format. This class includes observation of videos provided by the participants, observation of videos of Master Teaching, observation of on-site Master Class teaching by the participants and observation of Master Teaching at the Institute.
